Saint Marie Records

With the intent of combining the ethereal dream pop tones of his former band Dark Orange with the punk influence of bands the Damned and the Ramones, songwriter/guitarist Dirk Knight launched Seasurfer in 2013. Referring to the new project as dream punk, Knight enlisted singer Dorian E. and bassist Mikel Wegener to round out the German trio which is loosely based in Hamburg. A short set of early demos landed them a deal with shoegaze/dream pop enthusiasts Saint Marie Records who featured them on their 'Static Waves II' compilation with a remix of 'We Run' by Harald Löwy (Chandeen) soon after.

Their first digital singles Stay and We Run quickly gained the attention of both critics and listeners and Seasurfer then set about recording their debut LP Dive In which arrived in June 2014 (mixed with Axel Ermes and mastered by Karl Skivington from fellow UK-Shoegazers Spotlight Kid). It was followed by their digital single for Cloudjumping in November and later by a contribution to the 'Static Waves 3' compilation with their new song 'Waves' and the Slowdive cover of 'Dagger'. Their noisy and dreamy, yet powerful sound brought them huge acclaim amongst lovers of bands like Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine and Cocteau Twins.

After several personal changes which resulted in recruiting Julia Beyer (Chandeen) as new vocalist, Volker Zacharias (Girls Under Glass, Cassandra Complex) on bass, Jojo Brandt (The Convent) for Guitars and Benny Ruess on Drums, the new line-up is now complete.

The band released EP “Headlights” with 4 new songs in late 2015 via a Pledge campaign. Now they have completed their second full length entitled "Under The Milkyway.. Who Cares" that is set to be released on March 24th 2017.

This one has to be heard to be believed. under the milky way...who cares throws down the gauntlet, an album that transcends its genre, that leaves all the pretenders in the dust. Saint Marie Records takes yet another bold step forward. And if there’s any justice left in this world, then the world will be theirs.
